School Break Blues

Today all the poor parents whose children are out over the winter holiday break decided to bring their children to the library. Which was fine, but then the parents abdicated all responsibility for their screaming, running, shouting little monsters while I was writing. The librarians were also curiously absent.

I put on my headphones and tapped out 3400 words just to spite them.

I was at the Met yesterday with my brother and his three-year-old. Boy, oh boy, do I sympathize.

Redundant.

Me too. I would have taken that time to do something, anything, in the nearest bunker-like room. Check for earthquake damage maybe. For, as you know, children are like radiation: tolerable only in low doses.

Yup, that's why I love my iPod!
On my train ride every morning, my headphones save me! So I can empathize.

I've literally worn out two sets of headphones (Sony earbuds) from the constant use. The bus, the office, the library....

Someday I hope to get a set of Grado or similar headphones. I don't care how geeky they look.
