Tricorder Set to Detect Administrivium

One of my job descriptions includes the deliciously jargony term "Single Point of Contact". This is normally abbreviated in company emails, and that's fine. Acronyms are grand.

I just left a meeting in which I was repeatedly complimented as being "the best SPOC on the team" and "my favorite SPOC." I must locate a pair of pointy ears for the next such meeting.

I have no idea what you're talking about. Obviously my geek quotient isn't high enough. Please expand my jargon vocabulary (which is already stuffed with gamer-speak, literary criticism, the law, and various other fields of interest).

You have failed your geek-check. It's a homonym for Spock, a moderately-famous SF character.

No, I obviously know enough Star Trek to get that joke ... but I have no clue about the context of the joke.

Don't forget to point out how illogical your co-workers are. And toss in a few "fascinating"s for flavor.

If only I could do the "Live long and prosper" hand sign. Alas.

Just tell your coworkers you've been at Microsoft for just about seven years now, and they should be a little careful around you the coming months... ;)

Bet you can't get that silly battle song out of your head the rest of the day now..... >:)
