Rewrite Complete

I finished the second draft rewrite of "A Gathering of Winds" late tonight after a long haul today (13 hours, with several breaks). The manuscripts tops out at about 22,500 words, all nicely polished and shiny and full of Teh Nasty Evil. Which means I can sleep on it and turn it over on deadline tomorrow, and if I feel like spazzing out and tightening up some details over lunch, I can do that too.

Given the playtester reaction, I suspect that it will be a success. It's packed with gamer service: ridiculous amounts of new creatures, new items, and good maps. And knowing the Paizo staff, it will get tightened up a notch or two further as a result of the in-house Paizo playtest. Like any turnover, some revisions and clarifications await, but really, it's done. Let the Dance of Doneness begin!

I'm delighted both because it turned out well, and because this means I can get back to that second novel that's been hanging fire for a while now. More on that soon.

Woo hoo! Can't wait to check it out. Also can't wait to see how many PCs in our group get mulched by it! (hopefully not mine!) :)

Prepare the mulchinator! :)

The manuscript is over the transom. Any resulting carnage is out of my hands.

Looking forward to seeing it. I enjoyed the Clockwork Fortress that just came out in Dungeon 126. (Since I almost loathe running anyone's adventures but my own, and I mused last night about running this for over a minute, it must be really good.) It was also cool to see new monsters included in it. The whole design reminded me of Myst meets D&D. I thought that was really cool. The card-playing salamanders were also a really nice "humanizing" yet still fantasy touch.

Thanks!

I *finally* got my copy of 126 today, and really liked the art and maps. The brass man is this close to being scanned in for an icon.

The edit is not quite what I was expecting, but I think I'm coming around to it.
