The Pyramids of Zul Bah Sair

Wednesday's Cthulhu game went almost perfectly. The game has reached the point I think of as the "melting pot", where all the disparate clues and seemingly unrelated hints start to come together. It's a tipping point in any Cthulhu campaign, when the maze of craziness starts to make sense. A dark, cultish, horrible kind of sense, and the response by investigators usually involves gasoline or dynamite.

With a little of bit fortuitous timing, the walls between what the Investigators thought was "just a dream" and what is "concrete" also started to come together that session. The moment for me was when one of the names they wrote off as dreamlike suddenly turned up in a playout handout, a letter they were able to hold in their hands and read. I've got to design some player handouts with that level of impact.

I love it when a campaign comes together.
