Street Life

Street life in the U-district is ridiculously good. In the space of 5 minutes, I saw
  • A pit bull totally entangled in a sapling

  • A midget, strutting her stuff.

  • A B-29 flying overhead (split tail, right?)

Waiter comment on the midget? "Oh yeah, she's a regular."

'fraid not on the B-29. The B-29 had a standard tail. By split tail, I'm guessing that you mean 2 vertical stabilizers at each end of a wide horizontal stabilizer, but a single fuselage tail? If it had 2 engines, it'd be a B-25 Mitchell, if 4 engines, a B-24 Liberator.

But I agre that life in the U-district is an experience. Lots of interesting things there. (Of course, you wouldn't have mentioned the pitbull tied up in a sapling if you'd been talking about Capitol Hill -- it'd be rude to comment on it's personal sexual choices.)

Ha! :D

I was amused once by a man in a business suit zipping along on a tangerine-colored Honda Metropolitan scooter. There are so many stories just waiting to be written about The Ave.

I've noticed a lot of scooters lately as well, but some of them are doing the "loud pipes save lives" thing. Conversation-stoppingly loud.

Which is just ridiculous on something with all of 50 or 100 cc, but there you go.

As gas prices have gone up, there've certainly been a lot of scooters hitting the streets. (Tho' my businessman on his tangerine Metro was ahead of the curve, as i saw him at least 2 years ago.) I'll never understand loud pipes on *anything,* let alone a scooter, but that's because i'm sensitive to noise. It's not the weirdest thing i've seen done to a scooter, tho' -- you should see the scooter "choppers" in my scooter magazines.

I knew somebody would be a plane expert!

Yes, 2 vert stabilizers at each end, and a 4 engine plane, so a B-25 Mitchell then. It was flying fairly low, so I got a good look. Only in a Boeing town ...

Re: Dude
5 o'clock, maybe 5:30. I'm guessing it was practice for some kind of 4th of July thing: you mean there was more than one of these passing by?

Oh, and awesome icon.

A midget, strutting her stuff.

Any chance she was a minja?
