Pharmacies are Like Elephants...

… because they remember you forever. I was picking up a prescription today and they said "Oh, you're in our system!"

Good, I thought, we can skip all the paperwork. Wrong. They had my phone and address from when I lived in Milwaukee. That was 11 years ago.

It's things like that which make me feel safer about the NSA knocking on my door and having a chat with me. Chances are, they'll try to find me at the old apartment complex we used to share 9 years ago...

Aha! Subpoena pharmacy records. Who woulda thunk it? The bookstores got nothin on the corner drugstore.

(Though in all seriousness, as someone who's paid to find witnesses years later, those old addresses can pay off. You can often find friends or family who will get a message to someone that you need for a case. Once you demonstrate that you're not the NSA that is. :) )
