Baaa!

The second Open Design project is done. I'm happy with the results, but the whole dire sheep thing has spun out of control.

The words "dire sheep" is very intriguing to me, and a littel scary to boot.

Behold, the icon that makes shepherds tremble! I wish I could remember where I found the original image, but I'm sure Aardman is involved.

Actually, it started before the icon, with a discussion of what kind of sheep might be grazing near the haunted castle. Answer = dire sheep, of course.

After that, it took on a life of its own. I still laugh every time I think about it.

It's good to be done. The Third Edition has gone a little nutty with "dire" animals, which is basically just a shorthand for "big nasty versions of normal animals".

So, dire tiger, dire rat, dire bear, dire shark.... dire sheep. :)

Re: Oh my goodness!
Very, very silly — I love it.

Only in New Zealand... And possibly Scotland.
