SF Dream Come True

Yes, you can own a tree — the Wollemi pine — thought to be extinct for the last 2 million years. It's like having a coelacanth in your aquarium.

I wants one bad. Heck, I could put it right next to the monkey puzzle tree.

I saw a big one of these in the Botanical Gardens in Sydney a month or so ago. The woman directing our little tour told us the trees were being nursed, but I had no idea they were so imminently available. Get one!

Apparently the Botanical Gardens in Sydney rule. The first specimens will be available in about a year. I expect they will be priced accordingly.

A horse the size of my dog does have a certain appeal. I picture it nibbling on the Wollemi pine. The heck with Jurassic Park, I wants the Pleistocene Safari.

Yeah, that would kick it, Radiskull! Little and HUGE mammals chompin' together, rhinosauruses roaming the Kansas prairie again... that rocks!

I too want a ceolocanth in an aquarium. Better still, add it to the Pleistocene Safari -- it'll give the super-crocs something to eat.

A tree I'd hug
This is just exceedingly cool. I expect there to be a party in celebration once you acquire and plant one of these babies. You're right: it would make a fine companion to the monkey puzzle tree.
