The Tome Podcast

Yes, I spoke to Jeff Greiner over at The Tome, a fine source of gaming podcasts. I talked more about games and publishing, and the odd quirks of both. Give it a listen, or check out the many other episodes he's done to date. He does magazine reviews, which makes me hopeful that one day he'll do a podcast review of KQ. Maybe next issue.

Also, cooked up some meatballs (so-so) and ran the Monday Zobeck game yesterday. It was one of those odd sessions where no combat occurred, mostly because the players were smart and their mission was stealth in some very hostile territory. Also, the use of impalings as a standard form of punishment in the duchy they were visiting may have discouraged them from.... too much combat enthusiasm.

Despite knowing they did the right thing, it felt weird not to roll dice... And next session will definitely make up for it.

Despite Luca's complete inability to be spy-like, I had a lot of fun last night :D (And I loved how you were RPing the various NPCs, particularly the dock worker was hilarious.) Thanks again for running!

Lack of combat
I've been averaging well less then a combat a session (short weeknight sessions). But there is still lots of dice. Plenty for PCs to use their skills and abilities on that don't have to be combat.

Cheers,

Re: Lack of combat
True, lots of Spot, Diplomacy, Bluff, Listen, and other checks happened.

Just one initiative roll, though, and that was for a chase (and it didn't go very far).
