Uh Oh

I finally figured out why my wireless connection consistently failed me at the coffeehouse: I was still routing through the corporate proxy server. Duh. Please revoke my geek license immediately.

But this leads to a separate problem. Sure, I can now log onto my work email, site management tools, and so forth from anywhere. But I can also log onto every Internet timewaster in the world from the coffeehaus on the weekend, when I'm supposedly working on fiction. Being cut off from the Net isn't a bad thing when productivity is on the line.

Er, speaking of Internet time-wasters.

Yes, I have rather painted myself into a corner. O woe is me.

Actually, the writing at home (where there is no wireless access for the laptop) seems to be working better lately. Guess I'm not installing wireless anytime soon.

At least not until you're done, I would hope.
