I Feel Pretty

So I'm sitting in the Bill Cafeteria (Bldg 34), minding my own business while updating the site over wireless from my laptop like any good Microsoft geek, when along come two guys who want to take my picture. So I say, "Sure."

They start taking the picture of me, with the giant corporate art and the cafeteria spread out below me (I'm on a balcony). And they continue taking pcitures. And they keep taking it, for like 15 minutes, from different angles. They rearrange my can of mineral water on the table to look better. I keep updating the site with new search keywords and submitting the changes. They put bigger filters on the cameras and start photographing from a tripod eight feet high.

They tell me it's for an article on "corporate culture" for some glossy German business daily (pull quote: "Ja ich bin ein Microserf!" "Wir sind Alle Microserfs!").

I guess there are two possibilities:

  1. I look like a typical Microsoft person. And that's kind of scary, actually.

  2. I look better than typical Microsoft person. And that's better, but still setting the bar a little low.

My day is just a little more surreal. Maybe they got me confused with David Sanger.

3. Because I look like a nice German boy, Microsoft will seem like "just folks" to the readership.

"I feel pretty, oh so pretty, I feel pretty and witty and wise!" -- sings the Microserf, prancing in his tutu and tiara. -- bb

Re:
Yeah, maybe the tutu is what made them want to take the picture. My tiara was out for cleaning, so i wasn't actually wearing it.

I guess I am more than just another pretty face. Do you want the tutu back soon, or can I keep it a while? :)
