Do Dogs Get Ice Cream Headaches?

My dog Snaggles, as previously posted, has a love of odd foods: hot peppers, radishes, apple cores. Anything in a take-out box. Hell, she's a scavenger born and bred. Anything on the floor is hers by rights, and no dropped potato chip can escape her swift and certain dismemberment.

Yesterday she got her first taste of ice cream, but in her eagerness she speared it on her upper canines. She couldn't really chew it, didn't know what to do with food that cold, and wound up licking the ice cream while it was pasted to the roof of her mouth. She's a goofy dog to begin with, but I think she set some kind of new record. It was over in 20 seconds. Sharks should be so efficient.

Oh, for a camera quick enough to capture Snaggles at the kill.

I will cherish that image always.

Our cat, Tatsuko (whom you have met) is partial to salsa. This is good, since it means she probably won't get sick from spoiled meat, as per the latest Science News.

BTW, Retreat is going fabulously. Betsy and Steve & Sue have taken on your mantle and are producing simply amazing amounts of work. Next year in Jerusalem, dude.

I'm saving my pennies and vacation days. Next year, absolutely. How did the Campbell conference go? I've been out of town...

HA! But would it have mattered to her if she got a head/toothache from it? I think not!

As long as it's chow, the bar is set pretty low. Dogs are scavengers.

BTW, like the new icon.
