Merriment Ensues

Put a stake in its black black heart, Project Ω is done and gone, all 74,000 words of it. The turnover went to the publisher yesterday.

This weekend, I hope to get back to fiction. And I hope to stay with fiction for quite a while.

I'll have to buy you a congratulatory drink if you make it to Zig Zag. Then you can buy me a congratulatory drink, and then I can buy you one ... and we'll both need rides home.

Works for me! And sometime this weekend, a congratulatory watching of "Hero" is probably also called for.

Congrats! Now, when do we get to find out what it is and how to acquire it?

Sadly, it will not be announced for a couple months yet. However, rest assured I will blab about it here when the Word comes down from the Catalog.

The Ed Greenwood Rules on Writing #134

When in doubt or suffering from writer's block, throw in a hot tub scene or something involving nubile women and oil. The writing takes care of itself.

You see, this is exactly why Dave is moving to Canada. Lucky dog, the writers up there all have hot tubs stocked with nubile women.

Oh, you say the hot tub babes are fictional? You make me sad.

Define 'babe'...?

Well, in Edmonton it may involve a toque or mittens or Canadian bacon, but locally I'd say it's any woman who enjoys hot tubs.

Sadly, the word "babe" is loaded with political freight, and sometimes frowned upon. In those cases, "dame," "moll," "broad," or "flapper" are acceptable substitutes.

ahhh.

I was thinking something more along the lines of 'siren', 'incubus', 'vixen', or 'man-eater'...likely we all have our own vision of happiness for the soon to be departed...
