I am a Drooling Fanboy

Back in the misty past, when cyberpunk was new, I read a book called Neuromancer and decided that SF didn't suck anymore. I gobbled up William Gibson's next few books, defended his steampunk collaboration with Bruce Sterling (The Difference Engine), and eventually even wrote some cyberpunk of my own.

Now Mr. Gibson is leaving his lofty home north of the border and coming to give a talk at Microsoft, as part of the Visiting Speakers series (and to kick off the promotion of his next book, Pattern Recognition). He'll be here on February 3rd, and it's open to employees (and guests, I suppose). I can hardly wait.

Hello!
Hey Wolfgang, this is Danny. I noticed that the foolish canadian had a friend whose name I was not familiar with, and decided to find out who it was. I hope you don't mind me adding you to my friends list. Talk to you later.

Re: Hello!
Let the record show that this foolish Canadian is a fellow countryman of the author being discussed. So many good things come out of Canada. :)

Yeah, I hear he lives in Vancouver
Bronn, if I'd known Gibson was Canadian back in the 80s, I would still have loved his stuff. So, you live near Vancouver, you must know him, right? :)
