Reviews Make Everything All Better

There's nothing like a positive review to put a spring in my step. Today, a review on ENWorld by Crothian for the Book of Roguish Luck (adding to the previous review by Nightcloak on the same site).

The review is one of those "Let me tell you about each section of the book in order" things. For some reason, this is the standard formula for game reviews. Why do RPG reviewers all follow this format? It's so methodical and, well, a little dull. Music reviewers don't say "The first song is good, and then the second song…". They talk about highlights and lowlights, hits and misses. Fiction reviewers don't discuss a novel chapter by chapter. They talk about theme, enjoyment, missed opportunities.

But I shouldn't complain, and the format is secondary. Crothian says BORL is a ★★★★ book, and thus, life is good.

The paper version should arrive shortly.
