Massive Productivity

Since I have a time limit for revisions, my productive side really shone brightly today: cut back a large hedge, painted some house-trim, returned the library books, washed a load of laundry, made a grocery run, grilled sweet garlic pork chops, watered the garden, pulled some weeds, did the dishes (twice!), and, yes, even washed the dog.

The novel sits unloved. I printed it out in full manuscript format for the first time (usually I double up the pages), and it's a big intimidating: 389 pages. I did sneak a peek and was rather pleased to see that at least that page wasn't utter shite. Tomorrow, I take the rewrite pen firmly in hand and review the first 10 chapters. Unless I cut and stain the baseboards instead.

My novel sits unloved as well; I printed mine out at 389 pages too, oddly enough, though that was due to shrinking the font a wee bit so I didn't have to print out 421 pages. :)

While I heard from mine editor that he loved the book and didn't have major problems with its structure, I still await particular comments to trim the ms of game-ese speak and the like. Yes, you can take the dragon out of the dungeon, but you can't get D&D out of the writers... ;)

Good luck with yours; sounds like you had a busy weekend but everything at Chez B*** (for anonymity, of course) must be happy and shiny (in both the surface and the Firefly sense). Take care, man.

Remember--book good, baseboards bad.
