Shout Outs

Holy cow, there's a lot going on:

  • Matt Forbeck and Stephen D. Sullivan are both nominated for Scribe Awards! If they don't win, they wuz robbed. I say this as a fellow Alliterate, of course.
  • philreed is cooking up an Open Game License version of Marvel Super Heroes, a thing called FASRIP that's probably familiar to the supers gamers among you. You can support him (and you should!) with a few bucks and get a copy of the thing when it's done in a couple weeks.
  • Reading L. Sprague de Camp's Lest Darkness Fall. Lots of fun in a very short package. I'd forgotten how good he was, and the 1939 copyright date on it... Well, his positive attitude in the face of world events is amazing.

More later. Just trying to keep up lately.

The De Camp is on my list to re-read this year. Along with Anderson's Time Patrol stories, it's directly responsible for sparking the interest in history that lead to me majoring in it. The gents filled e with a great respect for the accomplishments of past generations, full of people just as smart and complex and goofy and interesting as us right now.
