Senator Obama

I just finished hearing Barack Obama give the keynote speech at the Democratic National Convention; he's an astounding speaker, as good as Bill Clinton or (the Dark Emperor) Ronald Reagan. Cadence, body language, his transcendant message of hope for all Americans, his passion for the potential of the country. I'm too young to remember the Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr, but I imagine the energy and the ringing voice of the pulpit must have sounded much as Obama does.

If he's not elected as the junior Senator from Illinois in November, clearly a fraud will have been perpetrated in the election system. If he doesn't make a run for president in eight years, I'll be quite surprised. Check out the speech.

He was very impressive Sunday on 60 Minutes. Lord help me, but I think I've found a politician that I want to believe in.
